Just passing the word along if you are a subscriber or know folks who are. I just learned about this last night during Sons of Anarchy, but apperently they have not made any movements towards renewing a contract with Fox.
http://getwhatipaidfor.com/home is the site lobbying to get DISH off their can and get it going.
If I loose FX on Oct 1st, I am cancelling dish the next day unless they say its coming back before the next tuesday.

:-) I signed into the getwhatipaidfor.com and told them that exact same thing.

I don't have cable or satellite of any sort, so have no dog in this fight. But I have noticed that there have been a LOT of problems with Fox programming during the preceeding months, in several of its permutations, being threatened by signal suppliers with a discontinuance of their offerings. I wonder if this is the fault of those suppliers, or if Fox is trying to coerce higher fees from them, and attempting to blame others for their greed.
Hey, I do not know, and really do not care all that much either. But it is something for you to consider before you all diss DISH.

Yea I have dishnetwork and I'm pissed about this as well. However more upset about losing the local Fox sports network considering that's where most of the Wings games are played on.

DirecTV had a similar situation with Versus several months back that went on for months. Versus had exclusive rights to the NHL games they showed, so I missed some home games that were blacked out on ComCast's local channel.
Pretty much each side blamed the other....DirecTV said that the new asking price Versus wanted would add 2 cents (that's right....2 cents) to the monthly bill of each customer, and they didn;t feel it was fair to pass along that price increase to all their customers since some didn't watch Versus. I called

Well FX is no longer in my channel line up. Apperently according to dish's site, fox is demanding a 50% rate increase.

Ill give ita few days before making a decision. Im pissed tho.
edit: I am pissed at both companies for not workign this out, not specifically at dish.

In an unrelated story, but not really, there are three key baseball games being played this afternoon, all with playoff implications. There's Padres-Giants, Phillies-Braves, and Yankees-Red Sox. All start at 4:10 ET, all are on Fox, and you will watch whichever game Fox says you will watch, regardless of what game you'd prefer to see. Even if you ponied up the cash for a baseball subscription package with your provider, you cannot watch anything save what the decision-makers of Fox Sports says you're supposed to. And why? It's because of Fox's dictatorial blackout rule. They are the only ones who can broadcast baseball in that time window, and they are the ones who choose which of those games will be shown in your area. And why why? Simple. Fox is a greedy fascist network owned and run by greedy fascists.
OK, that last part is just my opinion (as well as that of Homer Simpson and Peter Griffin
:-) ), but the rest it indisputable fact.
