I'm working in a super high end condo building in Philly (It set the record for the highest price payed for a condo - the penthouse shell sold for $12.5 million). They are the second building in the US to install one of those automated parking garages.

I saw something similar in Tokyo last year, only the chic wasn't nearly as hot and the parking operation was above ground.

I think the Barbizon hotel in Amsterdam has something like this as well. I know for sure that they work with a lift, you park your car there, get out, check in and your car will be moved to the underground parking lot. Not sure if it's automatic or valet though.
