A la Civette - Cigar shop in Paris
A la Civette is the other monument of the Palais-Royal in Paris.
Founded in 1716, A la Civette, near the Louvre Museum , is the oldest place
for the amateurs of cigars in Paris and in France.
Among the famous customers let us quote: Louis-Philippe d'Orléans,
Casanova, Voltaire, Churchill and back our days Micheal Jordan or Larry Kriv.
This place belongs from now on to Dorothée Weisz-Spriet and her family.
You will be able to find there more than 350 reference including 75% of
Cuban cigars (Habanos), 20% of Davidoff products and the other territories
10% (Dominican Republic, Honduras..).
For the Habanos: Partagas D4 and Montecristo N°4 are in head of the best
sales followed by Lusitanias of Partagas and the shorts Robustos like Hoyo de
Monterey.
Concerning the conservation one must appreciates particularly the splendid
walk in (large humidor) where cigars are presented on racks.
The personnel is from now on qualified and impassioned and expresses itself
perfectly in English.
It is one of our preferred cigar stores in Paris for its broad choice of Cuban,
vintages (in fact only Limited Editions), and many others small surprises.
Of course they are also specialized in luxury humidors and articles for cigar
smokers...

Directed since its creation in 1999 by Régis Colinet, Le Lotus became very
quickly a quite renowned place among the best the cigar shops of the
capital.
The place is very small but full of good surprises like nice collection of
humidors for example.
The strong point of this “civette” remains the technical skills of its team,
which flash back on the quality of the conservation and the selection of
Habanos. We appreciate as well the dialogue and the accompaniment of the
initial or confirmed amateurs, and the fact that they display cabinet of 50
from which you can buy only one cigar.
One regularly finds there; rare cigars, aged or vintages (we found
recently "El Septimo" cigars, a new brand very rare in France).
Look while entering the walk in, opposite you almost by the ground: you will
find there certainly the rare affair of the day.
A cigar shop to be visited regularly with confidence.
Only weak point: a very small selection of non-cuban cigars (Saint Domingo -
Honduras…) But we bet that you are not in Paris only for these cigars!!

Most shops in Paris have similar stock, and, in my opinion, keep their humidity levels too high.
That being said, the ones I usually frequent (because they're very close to where I stay) are:
Tabac George V
22 Avenue Geroge V
and
Boutique 22
22 Avenue Victor Hugo

Thanks for the help. I'll report back on the Paris B&M's I visit.
Ferdie, I would love to visit Amsterdam again but with wife, kids and grandkids in Paris for a few days I better stay there as tour guide.
