General Discussion>Need some Photoshop work
Commander Quan 01:48 PM 05-13-2010
I am getting married in September, and am having a cigar bar at the reception. When we first got engaged a year and a half ago I designed this bad to go on the cigars, but when I did it I was just thinking of a design not an actual usable band. Now after all this time I need to get stated on getting a band that will be usable, but I have forgotten exactly how I did this. I am by no means a Photoshop pro, more like a tinkerer. I am looking for someone who can redesign this band keeping as close as possible to the original, and getting to fit on the templet here. http://www.onlinelabels.com/Templates/OL383pdf.html. I still have the .psd file if that will help.

If anyone can help me out there will be a little package coming your way for the trouble.

Personally, I like what you already have there. It is simple and elegant.

Peace of the Lord be with you.

Rev, thanks The problem is that that it is 2 inches high and 6 inches wide, and I need it to fit onto the templet so I can print out the bands.

You could just cut it out, use the free transform to resize it and just copy and paste it onto the template.

resizing the image makes it all bury and look really bad

That's because the image is smaller than the template. Need to make the image to size or bigger.

Well, let's say you make an image 1" tall and 3" wide. It can be reduced (proportionally) without losing detail but it can't be enlarged without becoming fuzzy or blurry. Since the image you made is smaller than the template you need to fill there's no way to make it bigger without losing detail. It'll need to be remade. Shouldn't be a lot of trouble, but would be easier if you have the fonts and any graphics you used.

shrinking something you don't usually lose the quality due to all the pixels but doing the other way you'd have to stretch the pixels.

Exactly. The template size is about 980 x 347 while the design is 640 x 240. In addition the template resolution is 300 while the design was done at 96. Ideally the design should have been done at 300 also.

The Jpeg in the above post is your design placed in a clip from the template after a quick adjustment. Send me an email address that I can send you the PSD file and the complete template page (PDF) that you can print out and see if it works for you.

Thanks guys I think i got it figured out. I had to take the circle from the middle and resize it to fit into the more oval shape of the templet, and I may have to take the rings off the sides because of the way the band will wrap around the cigar one side will probably get covered up. Some of the detail is lost when it's down to the size it needs to be, but I've still got time to tinker with it.

Whoops. Actually I like one billing on the front and another around the band. But here it is with the name order the same.
