Discussion>Same Shape Pipes

Just picked up a pipe that I already own. Well, not really. I love the Peterson 150 style. It's a straight tapered rhodsian. I saw the same shape in another finish and pulled the trigger on it...

Anyone else fall into this category?

I have considered getting another Pete XL13/Baker Street, it's such a nice shape. It is pretty similar to the 150, but a little more upright looking.

BTW, the 150 is a bulldog not a rhodesian. :-)

lol I was thinking the same thing. Website said rhodesian. Either way still a nice pipe. They make a similar shape but bent. That will most likely be another pipe I obtain...lol:-)

Since getting back into pipes after a 35 year or so layoff, I've purchased 6 pipes in the last month. The only straight pipe is a MM cob. The others are bents of some flavor. My favorite pipe 35 years or so ago was a GBD bent bulldog so maybe that's the reason I gravitate towards them. I scored a GBD 549 and it smokes great. My last pipe was a Savenelli Roma 627 and it's a good smoker, as well. Thank you, ebay.

I'm in love with the Peterson 268 shape. I have it in all of these finishes:

Killarney Red
Aran
Donegal Rocky
Racing Green

And hopefully soon I will have the discontinued Cara Black.

I also like the Pete 80s shape and have it in Killarney Red and Killarney Ebony.

I figure that if you like the shape then why not get it in different finishes?!

For me it's the Savinelli #313 shape. It's a Prince with about a 1/8th bend and I'll pretty much buy any that I stumble across.

No such thing as too many bulldogs.
