SmokeyJoe 11:03 PM 03-04-2010
Went to the Carolina Hurricanes - Ottawa Senators game tonight... our first home game since the Olympics! (Nice win for us - 4 to 1) :-)
Tonight, they had displayed the gold medals won by Hurricanes players.
Eric Staal - Gold - Canada
Tim Gleason - Silver - USA
Tuomo Ruutu - Bronze - Finland
Joni Pitkanen - Bronze - Finland
(Sorry for the cell phone pics)

Pretty proud of our boys... every Hurricane who played in the Olympics brought home a medal. We swept the medals! :-)
Thought they were cool and wanted to share.

I would be too... but don't forget your Silver Medal winner!
Patrick Kane had a great tournament... and gained a Hurricane STH as a fan. :-)

Kaner might have been the best US player in the tournament next to Ryan Miller. Here's hoping that he and his team earn another piece of silver hardware in 2010.

Him being a Devil I'm generally not a fan of his, but I have to give Zach Parise the nod as 2nd best US player behind Miller (IMHO of course). Kane was impressive too, except for a couple bad turnovers that come to mind.

I like what I've seen from Parise, both in the Olympics and the NHL. I still think Kane had a better Olympics, setting up a couple of Zach's goals, but as a Hawk fan I am probably biased.

Not sure if anyone is as happy about that prediction coming true as I am, Joe.
