Crap. Welcome to New Year's Eve 1999.:-)

Don't have physical possession of mine, but had my daughter turn it on and she's like "Whoa, Dad your date is December 31."

I guess I won't be playing COD tonight.

Putting on my tinfoil hat: is it all non-slim models, or just the backwards compatible ones?

I keep mine on all the time, but fortunately I have a warranty through Best Buy.
Since it is a Sony problem, I would hope they would fix the problem for everyone without a hassle though.

Certain old fatties. Mine is a non backwards compatible fat PS3. The skinny ones are supposed to be ok

Here's another story from IGN.

It's an internal problem that will probably be patched via updates on the PSN network itself...The Slim is pretty much unaffected where as older versions (I have the original 60GB fully backwards compatible). There would no be point in returning to getting your warranty done until a patch comes out to "fix" the issue because it'll probably happen again.

The main thing right now is trophies that are synced via PSN network has been corrupted, that'll probably be fixed later on but the issue does not harm your saved files nor your internet capabilities...Supposedly a fix should be out by tomorrow, but we'll see...I'm stuck to finding something else to help me procrastinate from starting and finishing my research paper due tomorrow...

Straight from Playstation... http://blog.us.playstation.com/2010/...etwork-status/

*By the way, my two cents on the slims...they are dumb! No ability to install an OS, buttons are not touch screen, no backwards capability, no front memory ports for sd cards and such,

My PS3 fat was down too, but all is well now. No trophy or data loss thankfully.

Mine was fat until it experienced the yellow light of death. Now it's slimmed down and I made sure to get the extended warranty this time. :-)

It's fixed....basically the programmers didn't program that every other even year is a leap year which messed with clocks...When the PS3 Read 2/29/2010, the servers read 3/1/2010
