Island (The other ones) Reviews>Espinosa y Ortega No.21 Connecticut Robusto
saggel 04:53 PM 01-25-2010
This is my first review, so please bare with me.

Thursday noon and right after lunch I took out an Espinosa y Ortega No.21 Connecticut Robusto. This cigar is made with affection by two well-known names in the business, Erik Espinosa and Eddie Ortega that are mostly known for their 601 line. I sat comfortably with a cup of double espresso, got my favorite punch in hand and opened a perfect hole in the back.

The fire from the lighter along with slow spins easily gave life to the tightly wrapped package and the first impressions were mixed. Originally from Nicaragua, with length 5.5 inches and 50 in thickness, the cigar unfortunately does not offer any aromatic pleasure. But the impeccable appearance, the well filled interior and the very low price (you can exchange it for $1.5) give it some extra points.

There is nothing special on it, but with such a low price is a tempting proposal.

I normally like the EO brands. Was it too mild for you Spyros?
Their 601 Connecticut is my favorite Conn wrapped cigar out there. Not mild by any stretch.

Never had a 601 up until now...
I felt that this cigar had nothing to offer... just tabaco smell!!!

I've heard that these aren't the greatest thing EO has to offer...

Either way, thanks for the Review!

Don't confuse that economy cigar with the 601 brands, they are completely different.

I actually like these quite a bit. They do need a few months in the humi though. They are really wet ROTT and will burn funny and taste funny. I strip the cello of 'em and let 'em sit for a couple months. :-)
