So, is there anywhere besides a smoking hotel room or outside to have cigar in Atlantic City now days?

I doubt you can smoke a cigar in a hotel room, either. Cigarettes, yes, cigars, no. You can ask, but that's what I've found in most hotels.

They finally got that passed? I know it was delayed when the economy took a dump.

I've never done a comparison but how would the hotel be able to tell the difference between smoking a cigar vs cigs? For as long as you don't leave evidence I'd imagine you'd be fine.

Lot more smoke from cigars- usually sets off smoke alarms in room that cigarettes won't. But, just my

I stay in hotels 3-4 nights per week. Always the same hotels, in either Lynchburg or Roanoke VA. Always get a smoking room and always have a couple cigars while I'm there, and flush the contents of the ashtray when I'm done. Never asked if cigars were allowed, don't really care either. There are enough restriction on us.

Really? Maybe they did delay it. I just assumed it took affect a while ago.

It was passed and implemented for a few weeks. The Casino complained and was able to get an injunction so they are able to lift the ban. Unless it changed recently, they compromised by establishing smoking and smoke free area on the casino floor.
A related story. I went to B Bar in Borgata when it was passed. I mistakenly lit up a cigar (I didn't know it started that day). The disgust on my waitress face when she saw me was priceless. I stopped going after that. I then heard about the injunction. Went back to the same bar first chance I had. "That smells good" was the first words that came out of the same waitress mouth when she tended to me. I was LOL inside. Victory!!!

when i was in AC in 11/08 they had just passed and implemented the ban...the casinos all built smoking rooms adjacent to the casino floor....it lasted two weeks till they lifted the ban
when i was there in 11/09 they had reinstituted smoking in the casino area and the bars adjacent thereto

regarding smoking in hotel rooms (that allow smoking of course) - i've never had a cigar set off a smoke alarm.

I've never seen a poker room that allows smoking. I have mixed feelings about that for sure.
I'm glad to know I can smoke. I have a feeling my 10 cigar caddy won't be enough this weekend!
