All Cigar Discussion>Tell me something about this cigar....

I received this a year or two ago from an older gentleman. He is not a cigar guy and probably had this stored in a drawer for years. Although it is still sealed in its glass tubo.

I know that it was a limited edition and was for Dubya's first won election. It has a handwritten number on the card on the inside. But beyond the obvious I know nothing about it, besides that it is cool. I do not collect cigars and have no use for one's I will not smoke.

I would like to sell it but have no idea how much it is worth.

So who knows anything about these???

ALSO....Don't turn this political and get the thread shut down. Keep your personal political views just that way...personal. Thanks all :-)

This one's a little different as it is commemorating his first election in 2000 and was a limited edition. Same premise though. This is labeled a "Victory Cigar". That website was actually on the attached card also.

This would be more for the collectablility than the cigar. I'm sure it wasn't kept in a humi prior to my ownership. Sealed tubo or not, I'm not sure if it could have kept.

It could've kept, however, I'd view it more as a collector's piece than a cigar to smoke at all... that'll be worth some money.

I'd be really curious as to who rolled it and that kinda info. Perhaps emailing the group at that website and asking for info could be the best way to learn more. If you choose to do that, please report back... inquiring minds want to know!

I know you're just joking, but some may take offense and that creates turmoil in a thread. Let's keep it on topic. Thanks :-)

This was the response I got from the company. I'm gonna probably just put it on Ebay and see what it brings at auction since I have no idea what to even sell it for.

Our company, as an official licensee for the George W Bush 2000 & 2004 campaigns, created this cigar to commemorate his election. Only from memory because we have no specific documentation, I believe 10,000 of these cigars were produced. The retail price was $12 - $15. We've heard that they occasionally show up on ebay but we have no specific information regarding that.

Our company also created, manufactures and distributes the Maker's Mark Cigar that was used for the commemorative cigar.

After the OP makes a plea to keep this non-political, not only the political statement, but quoting it and commenting on it.

I will edit out everything that does not comply with CA policy, but won't put any more effort into it...one more and we are done here.

Looks like the cigar is a Maker's Mark, as in the bourbon. We carry Maker's Mark cigars, they retail for $11.75. I'm not sure what you could get for these special edition ones. Pretty cool item, though.

Seeing that it's a Maker's Mark cigar, I would say it is more of a collectable than something to smoke.
