Picked up the new Tempus, Maduro wrapped and looked delish! A HUGE fan of the original, I anticipated this release maybe as much as any. Here's the review...
Tempus Maduro Magistri 6 1/2 x 52
Construction: Near Flawless. The presentation of the veinless maduro wrapper and awesome preferito shape are second to none. The looks of this cigar screams, "tasty."
Pre - Light: Earthy? Dirty? Hmmm! Smooth, medium to light draw.
1st (and only) 1/3: WOW! Gross, gross, gross. I guess a maduro wrapper on an awesome blend is not a guaranteed home run. After the first 1/4 to 1/2 inch of the cigar which offered a dirt flavor, almost like raw potato skin, I was blasted by a bitter twang that I described to Paul (CBI_2) kinda like chewing on tin foil with fillings. it was consistant throughout the first third then retired.
The 1st version of the Tempus is a fav of mine and maybe I over anticipated its maduro successor. I will pick up another as it's hard for me to imagine they could really be that bad. I try almost everything in 2's or 3's anyway.
Thanks for reading!

Thanks for the review Jaime. Sitting on a 5er of these, and I hope you just had a bad stick (actually keeping fingers crossed). Like you, I LOVED the original and anticipated the maduro wrapper release. Letting mine rest a little bit.
