This is an attractive deep-black wrapped, firm belicoso with a spicy pre-light aroma. The pre-light draw was good, but I sensed immediate trouble with the lack of good volume of smoke. Perhaps this is an exception, but I'm thankful this cigar is limited. Good volume of smoke is essential, and everything else (flavor, strength, and finish) follows.
A little research shows that original release of this cigar (aka obsidian) in 2006 was limited to 50,000 cigars, but apparently the rights to this cigar were purchased by CI and the cigar is now readily available. The burn on this cigar reminds me of the old H2000 wrappers. Chucked to the cigar ash bin.

I actually like these quite a bit, but you have to sit them for a minimum of three months, preferrably six months before they are smokeable. Whether it's worth it to you is a matter of opinion. I got my last two bundles for a little over thirty bucks on cbid so for me I have no problem letting them rest for six months before smoking them.

I picked up a bundle a year ago at well under $40. They're very good, IMHO - not stellar but a quality flavorful maduro smoke, particularly after a year's rest. If you have some more, RichardW, forget about them until the spring and give 'em another chance.

With a year or so of age these become pretty nice, imvho. Young ... not so much.

Mine have been sitting for about 8 months now. Four more months to go.

i've got two of the OR left. The difference between these smokes is unfortunately night and day.

Thanks for the input -- I have a few left and will let them sit.
