MedicCook bombed me with this stick. This vitola is so new that I couldn't find any info about it online, even on the Exclusive Cigars site (who make the Kristoff line).

Humidor time: 1 week

Prelight: This cigar has a nice dark-brown wrapper, with a pigtail and shaggy foot. I go old school and bite the pigtail off. Draw is moderate, tasting of cedar and nuts. The faux cloth band gives the cigar a classic look.

Burn: The burn started off a little uneven (I occasionally get this with the shaggy foot) but evened out on its own and was fine from then on. Ash was flaky, but very solid. Draw was moderate. The burn time was about 95 minutes.

Flavor: Another tasty cigar. Cedar and toasted nuts were prominent, with a hint of dark caramel in the final third.

Summary: I really enjoyed this stick. Kristoff is 2 for 2 with me (the maduro is my favorite stick). I'll have to try their two ligero blends.

You know what, I'm not sure what I picked up in terms of nuances and flavors with this stick, but what I did pick up was good.

It was rich. It wasn't harsh. Not too spicy, but not too sweet either.
The words coffee briefly came to mind, but I don't even think that describes it.
It was just good.

Is that the one with the Sumatra wrapper? I have one in my cooler to try. Looking forward to smoking it.

Um, no. It's a criollo wrapper, specifically Nicaraguan criollo, IIRC. I haven't tried the Sumatra yet.

I find on most cigars with a tightly-tied pigtail, that gives a perfect draw. :-)
