I picked up my first Opus today at a local B&M. Very smooth light chocolate wrapper. Prelight it had an amazing and distinctly aroma of cinnamon on the foot.
First third - Mainly tobacco and cedar flavors with hints of mocha and cinnamon. Great and effortless draw. Slightly sweet taste on the palate. Had a very small burn problem which I corrected before it got out of hand. Flavors staying consistent through first third.
Second third - Flavors moving to primarily tobacco and leather with a mocha aftertaste. The flavors are slowly evolving. Just a hint of peppery spice. Nicely balanced in strength and flavor.
Last third - The spice is intensifying but still staying balanced with rich flavors of tobacco and mocha / coffee. Lingering aftertaste of mocha which is very pleasant. Finishes very strong with nice touches of dark chocolate.
Overall a great smoke. Slowly evolving in flavor and strength. Recommended!
