Some puke in Sweden tried to run a charge on my credit card twice in the last two days... thankfully the card company caught it and now I get to receive a new card... change all passwords... on all accounts....totally not the way I wanted to spend the week.....:-)

Sorry to hear about the annoyance. Atleast they caught it. I'd rather have to create new accounts then be thousands of dollars in the hole. Good luck!!

yeah... they did a good catch. they did not catch two smaller amounts.. less than 20 dollars each though.. i can live with those cause of the delay, i couldn't have handled the others that they did catch.... woulda sunk my ship

i keep accurate account of where the billing for any purchases originates from, i would have caught these but would have been late for the catch cause I dont use this card often. that is part of the reason they caught it.

Ug I hate that. It happened to me once a few years ago - tons of small transactions - I had to fight the bank though - BoA sucks for customer service.

Anyone noticing an increased frequency of these things happening?

weird the way they tried to adjust the amount to find an accepted level of theft...

I was thinking the same thing. I've noticed this happening to a lot of Visa card holders.

This has been happening with vendors from Switzerland. From my reading, it has more to do with the company they use for transactions. The number is not getting lifted from the store itself.

This happened to me yesterday. Luckily after 3 test charges of the same amount went through from somewhere in Switzerland, my bank called me. Then two more of the same dollar amounts from Skype*UK showed up, my bank shut the card off.

He got away with 3 $.05 test charges and two charges for $33.89

I keep my cards maxed out with cigar purchases, that way there isnt any room for someone else to charge anything on it.
