Just want to share that after many years of apartment living I'm taking the plunge and buying my first home. Closing date is May 18th. Finally I will be able to smoke cigars and BBQ! :-)

Having your own place makes all the difference. Congrats and make sure you note anything out of whack on your final inspection. You can always ask for a concession if it is not as originally planned.
Take a good hard look at the age of your water heater, HVAC, big appliances.
Last thing you want to do is have to put out for these expenses a month after you walk in.
Juat a little heads up from someone that has been there.

Congrats, that's awesome! I have an offer in on a short sale right now, but I just found out it may not be until early July before we get an accept/reject from the bank, even though the homeowner accepted two weeks ago. Good luck with your closing and enjoy the new place :-)
