Island (The other ones) Reviews>Like Tat Reds? Try a 5 Vegas Miami blue label!
e-man67 07:59 AM 05-05-2009
Ever judge a book by it's cover? I have and still do with the reason being that I have been disappointed too many times. By that I mean the big box cigar outfits pushing those must try sticks at blowout prices...they promise big complex flavors and deliver none of it. So, this stick was part of a large lot of sticks I recieved. I have never had a 5 Vegas stick before so I was a little hesitant as life is too short to waste time on crap. The wrapper had a cracked foot so I thought I would just fire it up. I clipped it and took a dry draw and I could taste a peppery hint. I ignite it and I get the splurge of spice and pepper. The thing burned like a champ and very even to the nub. Taste was consistant and very reminisent of a Tat Red label...very good. I could see myself buying a box of these. :-)

I like both sticks! Never noticed similarity, though. I will make a note of it.

The 5 Vegas Miami toro is one of my absolute favorite NC sticks. I always have some around. BTW... if you watch you can get them on cBid for under $60 a box pretty easily.

I really like the 5 Vegas Miami as well. For the price they are really hard to beat!

I've got one torpedo left from a box that I bought about a year ago. I like them, much more so than many others that I've paid more than twice as much for. And I'm with Gator, some real deals on these can be had off CBid.

Same here. I mean, they both have a flavor profile that's in the same range of the spectrum, with a Pepinesque spice, but I don't think I'd mistake one for the other.

And ditto to what others have said: the 5 Vegas Miamis are tasty in their own right, but also a good value when purchased through CBid.

Thanks for the review.

Since they are both Pepins, you're safe. :-)
