General Discussion>Blackberry Storm 9530 feedback
TheRiddick 01:10 PM 05-03-2009
Looking to upgrade my phone and Verizon is offering this Blackberry model (as well as the LG Dare/LG Versa. Read some reports and owner feedback that indicates Blackberry seems slow and bug prone on the software side, although does have great screen and QWERTY keyboard function.

Any feedback on the Blackberry and/or above LG models? Looking for phone functionality, primarily, don't use nor care about many apps, but do want to touch screen capability for ease of use.

TIA.

The Curve is GREAT! No issues with the 8+ I support for work! I have played with the Storm and it still has issues... BTW - I'm on a Verizon BB Curve right now! :-)

I love my BB curve 8330. Does everything I need and more. I personally think the Storm isn't quite right and its successor will be much better. The storms screen/keyboard/ clicky just felt "cheap" to me. As for the LG's I dont know much about them. Hope this helps a little.

Thanks guys. Sounds like I should wait some or go with Curve for now. I have an older LG model and to be honest, it works great in every respect with only one reservation, it has an older screen that gets washed out in sunlight (no touch screen).

The Storm gets a bad rap because people are either impatient or are expecting too much out of it...

Keep your open apps to a minimum and it'll run smooth. Tweak the touchscreen sensitivity and the touchscreen keyboard will be 90% as fast as buttons. The only thing that tends to get me held up is if I hit the symbols button while typing fast....

I've had it lock up once and it was my own damn fault having like 12 apps open.

Just take into consideration there will be a learning curve with it. You have 30 days to return it if you don't like it (for like a 35$ restocking fee though)...

My only REAL gripe with it is the touchscreen while calling someone. If you pinch it between your ear and shoulder, you stand a good chance of pushing the mute button.

Still looking to how to get around that... Other than bluetooth obviously.

Me and my fiance both have a Storm and they've been extensions of our hand since we got them. We love them.
