GM just anounced the closing Pontiac. The pontiac dealer here in Tucson is one of my biggest accounts. This sucks toilet water.

Sorry to hear that Bill. I guess there is going to be a lot of bad news before our economy gets turned around.

Hard to believe that they would permanantly close their best line outside of Saturn even though I saw it on the news.

A dealer for just Pontiacs? Most dealers are multi-line. maybe the dealer will stay and just switch products.

I could understand getting rid of Buick. But there seems to be a lot of Pontiacs on the road down here.
Why not just combine them all and keep the best of each brand.

Building what is basically the same car under multiple brands, under the weight of multiple distribution and service networks has never made much sense to me. Bummer for those affected, but our auto industry must reorganize into a leaner form if they want to compete.

I dont understand getting rid of Pontiac and Saturn, it seems those are their two best brands...

Seems to me they're killing the wrong brand. I'd have killed GMC. GMC only sells less fuel efficient vehicles, and the consumer is making a move away from that type of vehicle. A shame.

And the Chevy branded versions of the same vehicles tend to outsell GMC by a wide margin. Yep, GMC should probably have been cut too.
