Not really an ultimate list unless the band plays well as a unit. So for that reason, I have one entry: The Eagles.

How about the Wango Tango man as my back up singer and back up guitarist? Mr. Back Strap Boogie himself, Ted Nugent!

Vocals- Robert Plant
Guitar- Jimmy Page
Bass/Keyboard etc- John Paul Jones
Drums- John Bonham
Can't get a better line up then that. :-)

Seriously,
Band #1:
Vocals- Robert Plant
Guitar- Jimi Hendrix
Bass- Jack Bruce (Cream)
Drums- Terry Bozzio (Frank Zappa)

Band #2:
Vocals- Ian Astbury (The Cult)
Guitar- Jeff Beck (Yardbirds)
Bass- Geddy Lee (Rush)
Drums- John Bonham

If I need a keyboard/piano player I'd use John Paul Jones or Roddy Bottum of Faith No More.
This is off the top of my head, so I'm sure I'd change a few and I just might, after all it's my band, right? :-):-)
