Most people would say the Beatles are the best band of all time, but if you ask me, I say it's the kinks. check out those awesome pants!

MGMT have received tons of recognition this past year for their incredible debut album, with good reason. Do yourself a favor and pick up this record. I think it's the best of '08

OK maybe this isn't the greatest song on the list but the Beastie boys+girls in bikinis= win!

Before Ministry reinvented themselves as an industrial metal band they were a failed new-wave group. Luckily this obscure gem survived.
one of my all-time favorite videos. This is what I hope the future looks like. It's just so...cool

This last one is a favorite among record collector nerds like myself. CAN were a German band from the 70's which had a minor hit with their song "spoon" which consequently, was the inspiration for the name of the popular rock band Spoon. love those funky drums

Well I could post a ton of Videos here, but will start with a few.
The Frug by Rilo Kiley This is from the early part of their career. Plus I've always had a thing for Jenny Lewis.
Breaking The Ice by Mojave 3 This song is off of their recent album Puzzles Like You which is more pop than any of the other albums.
New Race by Radio Birdman Was an early rock/punk band from Australia in the early/mid 70's. They were inspired by two great groups MC5 and The Stooges. Plus my favorite song by them.
Romeo Had Juliette by Lou Reed There was a Velvet Underground video I was trying to find but I guess it's gone. Defiantly one of my favorite Lou songs!
Trash by New York Dolls A great and very different early 70's rock band. Not much I can say just enjoy!
Waltzing Matilda by Tom Waits Great song and a great voice. It's interesting to listen to early albums and progress through his catalog with his voice continuing to get rougher. There is something with his writing style. It's amazing story telling that you can visualize any song of his by putting on an album and just laying down.
