Was gifted one of these today by Oliva Rep at my B&M. It seems Oliva discontinued their Oliva S and this is a new line they have come up with.
It looks very mild with the Connecticut Wrapper but the Rep said it's a medium to mild smoke with spice. Here is the Oliva presentation info-
(This lovely Nicaraguan puro has a deep golden brown Ecuadorian-Connecticut wrapper which covers the all-Nicaraguan filler and binder.
The taste: Short, creamy finishes on the palate with flavors of nuts and buttered toast. Hints of pepper and wood towards the end.)

When I lit the cigar I expected a mild taste but what I got was a medium Nicaraguan flavor with nuts and hints of pepper. Not a lot of smoke but acceptable. Very much similar to one of Pepin's lighter blends. I never tasted the buttered toast but there was some creaminess to it.

At the mid point I found the normal perfect burn associated with Oliva's to be present on the Reserve's. The mascara ring was dark and the draw was smooth. The amount of smoke had picked up and I found myself enjoying this stick. The mid level price point on Oliva's is a plus and the Rep was happy to point this out.
The last third of the cigar seemed to level out as a medium smoke with a little more pepper and wood flavor. Perfect burn all the way through.
This cigar is not a "V" but it is worth a try. I would recommend it as a early afternoon smoke or an after dinner smoke.

These seem to be getting some decent reviews around the Asylum. I'll have to keep these in mind next time I'm at the B&M.

Thanks for the review! :-)
