Most lures are designed to catch shoppers not fish...:-)
Not to digress from the purpose of the thread, but you are both right and wrong on this. While more lures are designed to catch shoppers not fish, fish are only color blind at night and in deeper water. Predatory fish do see colors and that allows them to locate their favorite meals in shallow water. If you have ever noticed, bait fish comes in many different colors.

As the water gets deeper the color of the lures become more muted to the human eye and eventually would become grays and shadows but that is when the fish's other senses take over and it becomes more about vibrations and sound.

Now back to the cigar bands. They obviously serve two different purposes. The first is to identify the stick. The second is to grab your attention and say "Buy me."

"do not remove the band, as that indicates about as far as you want to smoke"

I have the horrible habit of picking at labels on bottles, and bands on cigars. I have destroyed too many wrappers for my liking because of this affliction. Fewer bands and naked chic...errr...sticks please!

(I know that joke was done already, but I couldn't resist)

There are some sticks and bands I can stare at all day.

Yep the Selecao Robusto. Wonderful cigar. The new 20 stick boxes have the bottom band. The 50 count which is being discontinued did not sport the band. I have found them to be a very good smoke.

I did a box split on the old 50 cab but have had a hard time finding the new ones. Can you shoot me a pm or post up where you are getting the 20 boxes? :-)

Nicks Cigar World still has some singles or did have. Check their website. I called and talked to Jim. I believe he just put in an order for the 20 box count or if not he can order you some. I picked up the last box from Rockys Cigars, don't know if they have any new inventory.

Do the manufacturers just want us to destroy the wrapper so we buy more?
I just don't get it..
If I had my way, all of my cigars would be bandless. It's pretty impossible though. I think cigars look the best no cello, no band.
