Smoked my second NC of 2017, the Davidoff Nicaragua Robusto. I was gifted this for Christmas with by a coworker, along with a couple other premium NCs.
Nice looking golden wrapper with an excellent draw that provided voluminous amounts of smoke. One or two minor touchups were all that were needed, as the burn was excellent as well.
I found the profile to be nutty, with a plesasant underlying sweetness that reminded me of black cherry. Not an overly complex cigar, but certainly a well balanced one. Better than the first NC I smoked this year, an Opus X.
At the price point, it's unlikely this will become part of my regular rotation, but when I hit a B&M for a smoke (and buy an NC or 2 as is always the "righjt thing to do"), it will be high on my list as one to seek out.

Nice review, I enjoy the 2000s (NC) as well, they are a nice mild / medium stick with a lot of interesting spice notes, as in less peppery and more cinnamon, allspice, etc., Like you, at the price point this isn't something I'm going to be purchasing often.

Living in Cincytucky are many avid cigar smokers and because there are like three large weekly events in the area, a lot of know each other directly or like one "degree of separation".
It's got to be a tiny fraction of a percentage of them that ever purchases Davidoff by the box. And the trouble with that for retailers is that the company insists a store stocks ALL the Davidoff lines to get a direct account.
For the record I like their Nicaraguans very much too. Just honestly out of my comfort zone money-wise.
