I wonder if they sold more boxes than they actually had and are just waiting for more inventory while covering with some flimsy "power outage" story. Hopefully you'll get your money back or your cigars.

This was my response. Sent at 8:09 this morning.

I ordered from you on the 10th. You billed my card on the 13th, I received an e mail that you had the "power outage" on the 21st, six business days after billing me. Now you're telling me it's going to be another week before I have my cigars ? I have left messages on your "customer service" voice mail and " check order " voice mail for a week and this is the first response I have had ? I feel you should ship them to me express mail at your expense and provide me with a tracking number or cancel my order and credit back my credit card. I have already contacted my credit card company to start the dispute charges process so let me now how you plan on fixing this.

No answer back as of 5:45 pm.

My guess is your CC company has told them that you were disputing a charge and that prompted them to finally respond.

Exactly how long did this power outage last? If it had been longer than a day, certainly it would have made the news. I call :-)

I would say that the idea that they oversold and want to keep cashing in could be plausible. Either way, I would tell them to refund my money immediately or I would continue the dispute.

Nice heads up on this.....something about their site seems off to me! Does CA screen vendors before allowing them membership and the ability to advertise? Sounds like a simple google search would have precluded them from even joining?

No, we do not. We also do not endorse nor recommend any, and we will boot any where we get concrete evidence of tomfoolery / foul play. But basically, it's caveat emptor. We take no money/mechandise/gratuities, and we don't take responsibility for members transactions with them.

Well, responded yesterday to their email as I posted earlier and called their " customer service " number and left a message and as of close of bussness light night still no response. These guys suck. Still waiting to hear from my credit card co.

That's the first time I've ever heard of any customer service line always going to voice mail. If these guys are on the up and up, then they'd have someone available to answer calls during normal business hours. I say continue with the dispute process with your CC company. :-)

agreed....customer service and straight to voice mail don't work well together!

Sounds to me like it's just some guy in his house selling sticks from his basement. Even B&M's have phones, and at least the 1 here isn't always so busy they can't answer the phone. I wonder what would happen if you called on a weekend (IE hours he might not be at another job).

I've called weekends, right after opening time, closing time always get voice mail. They have 4 options, buy wine, buy cigars, check on your order and customer service and everyone goes to voice mail.

This. We did try to warn everyone off; it's hard to just come out and say "I think it's a scam" when you're suspicious as hell but just not 100% certain; the signs were there though.

Got a letter from my CC that they have given me a " temporary " credit while they wait to hear from Cheapass cigar :-). I did order some from Famous Friday night and they were on the porch today.:-)
