Sports>UNC Vacates 16 Football Wins

In response to recent NCAA investigations into its football program, the University of North Carolina has announced its self-imposed vacation of all wins over the previous 2 seasons, plus the reduction by three of their scholarships over the next three seasons, and the payment of a $50,000 fine. The administration also confessed its embarrassment on behalf of the university for the allegations filed against the program, and expressed the hope that these actions will exhibit their contriteness. They did NOT announce a ban on post-season play.

It will remain to be seen if these steps will prevent, or even ameliorate, potential further action by the NCAA.

Sorry for their troubles.

But, it sounds like red meat to keep 'em out of the basketball program...
If I recall correctly, some of the same tutors were involved...

:-)
Hope this is over for good and I can turn on the radio and not have to listen to UNC football news..

Edit to say, looks like you will have a couple new ACC teams to keep up with now...:-)
