Maybe not big, but any win is a big win at this point:
On December 26, Club Lasalle, a cigar bar in South Bend, IN that I frequented announced that they would go non-smoking on January 1. This was quite a shock to me as they rented humidors to about 50 people including a good friend of mine at a rather high pricetag. Many of us regulars wrote to them about our displeasure at the move to non-smoking. The biggest hit to them was our boycott of the place. Brian Kelly, the football coach at Notre Dame had a humidor among others. Apparently, our boycott caught their attention if the letters didn't as they announced to the staff today that they are becoming a cigar bar again! I'm still angry with them but knowing That my comfortable spot to smoke is again available represents a win for cigar smokers when we've been losing at every turn.

Good news Scott. But why would a "cigar bar" go non-smoking???
:-) :-) Are they trying to deliberately run out of business?

Mac,
It was such a stupid move, I can't begin to think why they would do it. I'm baffled. The atmosphere was perfect for cigar smoking.

Only a win in the sense that they themselves decided not to go non smoking.
If they had beat smoke nazi legislation, that would have been a big one.
I'm with Mac,why would they want to shoot themselves in the foot.(figuratively speaking of course)

Either way it was their choice both times and not another body telling them they can or can't, in the end I am glad it is working out in your favor Scott.

Exactly! We got to see how a free market economy works for real. They made a poor descision, the customers stopped coming and they didn't gain enough new non-smoking customers to justify the change, and they reverted back to a more profitable business model. Isn't it beautiful?

Good news for you that they switched back! But the fact that they went non-smoking because they decided to is better then them having to by law!
