Yeah, got a letter from the Louisiana Dept. of Revenue....apparently my taxes were ****ed up. Instead of getting 39 dollars back, I owe the state about $400 now.
Talk about something I didn't want to encounter
this particular month as the bills pile up and I'm fighting to get student loans to go back to school to finish my degree. Why the heck does bad crap always end up happening on the tight months when you don't have that extra few hundred dollars to blow?
:-)
Oh well, had to give up on that new phone I was about to buy and put the money to the state's coffers instead.

Yes and no. I did them, but them let my father do them again in TurboTax which justified his purchase of the state copy and let him get a full refund on it.
Either way, neither of us caught the mistake, and it's not like I can hold him accountable for it. I should have paid more attention to the wording of one of the sections, I fell into a different category and didn't get a break on capital gains from the state. Thus, I owe taxes to the state from my income on CG.
I'm just complaining really, been a crappy morning. Coffee pot died, got this letter, bank is giving me problems, university is slow, and my shoulders are killing me from over-exerting them this weekend
:-)
