That's so awesome. I didn't realize there was a national circuit.
Just hearing the name brings back so many memories from my childhood.
I went NYC Golden Gloves every year from 88-95 and even went a couple of times to watch the finals at MSG.
Started going in 88. Mainly because I was crazy about Tyson, but also because I could go alone at 10 years old since it was held in our church's huge gymnasium.
I used to go and buy beer for the old timers that were too old, or too lazy to get up themselves. They would buy me a beer for going for them.
And the church would sell it to me no questions asked.
:-)
So many memories...... Thanks, Mike!

Very cool Dom, I guess the Fullmer brothers run it now, they have it going all around the country, maybe back in NY/NJ soon, NJ had a big team, lots of good fighters from NJ/NY metro

That's awesome, Mike sounds like a good time + getting paid for it.
When I joined the ARMY two of the guys I went through basic training with were brothers and both boxers, one of them was the Nevada Golden Gloves winner, they were joining the ARMY to box... yup that was their 'job'. Of course when we got news we were (most of us) shipping out right from basic to fight in Iraq those two of course weren't they were going to Germany... to box.
