Thanks for this BigJG.
A limited release Nicaraguan box pressed toro (54x5 3/8) - with a dark toothy wrapper. It was only in my humi a week before I could no longer resist. It was a cool spring morning (still snow on the ground), but it was perfect for my walk in to work today.

Despite a clean sizeable cut, the draw was initially tight, but seems to get going about an inch in. The burn is slow, straight, with long ash.
The flavour is straight up woodsmoke. No woosy perfumes, definitely not cedar.
This reminded me of a dark roast coffee on a campfire in the African bush, using dried thorn trees for firewood, and the dry savanna around you. A deep spice element hangs around - perhaps like some toasted pumpernickel bread.
OK - so I liked the stick. It is uncomplicated, tasty, extremely well constructed and really quite enjoyable.
