I saw a bunch more turtles on a log today, but it was at a park in Kent. There's turtles everywhere around here. I stop and move them off the road from time to time. I haven't seen a box turtle or snapping turtle yet, all Eastern Painteds.
Eastern Painteds are the kind you might have bought at the pet store when you were kids. They're cute up until they get old, then they can bite pretty good. They can snap a goldfish right in half, so they must have real sharp/strong jaws.
