It is truly a heart lifting and remarkable thing to know that Vegemite is indeed produced and sold in 2.5 Kg tubs.:-)

The beauty that is Vegemite, in all it's yeasty, salty greatness, over a slice of hearty buttered toast!

I thought the idea of spreading it over a roast, as a paste/rub was an interesting idea. I have used it in the occasional soup, and on toast, of course, but that would be an interesting way to flavor/season a roast.

Anyone try that?

Inferior Marmite people may not respond with their saccharine platitudes. :-)

Ive tried Vegemite cause I have a friend who lived Australia for a while and his mom was born there. Apparently its illegial here in the US and have to order form over seas.

To me I hated it, Im sorry it just tasted too much like crushed up vitamins and salt.:-)

Grew up on Vegemite chicken... Rub as much as you dare on a whole bird before throwing it in the oven. Best damn roast chicken I've tried. If you don't mind sharing, where do you pick up the big boy tubs this side of the pond?

Pic from an old thread...

Although I think 2.5 Kg would be a little more than a year or two worth, :-)
