I have been leaning towards using 10 Cane with a splash of HC 7yr. What have you guys been using? I like trying different Rum combo's but this one is a winner so far.

I use bacardi, but am no means a rum expert or regular rum drinker for that matter. I make mojitos a couple times a summer for a change of pace.

The only mojitos I've had were made with Bacardi... one day I'll be able to find which rum I like best with them.

I'm not a rum guy, so I'm not too picky, but I always go for Cruzan Estate Light.

I use the standard bacardi silver or whatever too. In a mojito the flavor to me anyway, comes from the mint and lime. I don't worry about the rums flavor but so much in a drink like this.

If Havana Club 3yr is not available, Cruzan Estate Light 2yr is an option.

Havana Club Silver. If I don't have that, Bacardi white. I never use an amber or dark- nothing uglier than a dirty mojito- and yes appearance in a mojito is important.

I typically use Cruzan when entertaining. If I am making them for just Danielle and I, we use 10 Cane.

I take it back, I had a sample of a mojito with Havana Club in heathrow. I liked it, but I'm not sure which I like better.

I'm just the opposite.

I typically use either Appleton White or Mount Gay Eclipse Silver.

For all other purposes I use nothing but Cruzan - the native rum of the islands. But for Mojitos I use only Bacardi Silver Label as it just seems to make a much better Mojito than any other.

I am a 10 Cane fan myself. Of course, I still down not have the Mojito making down yet- too much mint sometimes, too much alcohol, who knows what I am doing wrong. All I know is that summer is approaching, and I will get it down this year ;-)

Habanos Club 7 Anos or Legendario.
If I dont have it I don't make Mojita

10 Cane for myself, Bacardi or Cruzan for anyone who asks for a mojito after downing half a dozen Budweisers.

You mean you serve the good stuff to your guests?
who woulda thunk that was the right thing to do?
:-):-)
In general 10 cane is what I use, but I've also being using Marti Autentico lately. Not bad stuff.

Whole different story, there.

Good to hear. Never tried cruzan..always wondered if it was any good. Appleton I have been meaning to try. There is a Jamaican place up the road that is a Mojito/Rum bar and they use a ton of appleton. Not to mention KILLER jerk chicken!
You have to use "Yerba Buena" mint leaves. No other mint does it justice.
One twist I tried(after blood orange mojitos in Casa Fuente) was using Bacardi O in place of regular rum. Holy tastiness for a change of pace!
