I use Ronson butane fuel and have never had any problems with it, but have read lots of negative attitudes towards it. So I wondered, how many of you have had problems using Ronson?

Not I, but I've only used it in a Ronson. I actually had more problems using a different butane in my ronson and had to switch back.

I use it primarily in my Ronson and seems to work just fine!

One of the good points about Ronson JetLites, they will run on just about anything you can get in them. But I use Vector in my Ronson's and works fine.
Like most I have been told over and over for years don't use Ronson (and it is not triple filtered as others at least claim to be) so just never tried it......

No problems. My Jet Lite seems to work fine on whatever I throw in it.

I should have mentioned that I've used it in all of my lighters, Ronson and others.

I sure have. One of the herfs we had in florida some years back a bunch of guys were passing around cans of it and several of us had problems with it. Haven't touched it since.

I used it in a Vector lighter and had gunk build up in the fuel lines. Cleaned out the lines, switched to Vector. I only use Vector in my Jet Lites as well.

No problems with Ronson Fuel, but I only use it in my Jetlites and Comets.

I use 5x butane fuel in my Ronson and see a cleaner more efficient burn and never have issues with my Ronson. I bought it a year ago and bought 12 more and will probably only use those if I lose them. Incredible lighter for the price.

I heard from an employee at one of the local B&Ms that the ronson fuel has a small bit of lubricant or something in it and it will make the JetLites work better or last longer. I am not sure if this is true but I haven't used anything but colibri in mine and they are all working like champs

I've had problems with Ronson fuel in almost everything I've ever used it in: JetLites, Blazer soldering torches, master appliance cartridge torches, butane powered portable soldering irons & heat shrink guns (they end up sputtering at the flame screen) & colibri soft flame lighters. The only thing it's worked in for me are those cheap 8" long stem lighters that you get at the $1 store for lighting BBQ's, fireplaces, candles etc... (but not without modification - I had to disassemble the lighter and move the flame adjuster lever back about 1/2 a turn so that it opens up the valve even more).
I Vector in everything now except the cheap long stem lighters for the BBQ, and that's just because I'm too cheap to throw out the 97-cents worth of Ronson butane I have left. When it runs out, I'm done with the crap.

Had some problems with it in the first Ronson lighter I had. I have 4 Ronson's now, better thinking on trying Vector or Colibri fuel. Been using some stuff in a yellow can I got from JR. Called First Light, triple refined. Only issues I have is alot of times the lighter won't light on the first click or two. Then the torch flame only last for a few seconds....other times it will last 20-30 seconds. Not sure if it's the fuel or the lighter. Also, the capacity in the Ronsons don't seem to get me through more than 4-5 cigars. Been thinking on one of those larger table torch lighters for home use. Any of you guys have those?

Weird. I get about 2-3 weeks per refill with my JetLite. That's maybe 5 or 6 cigars a week, and I also smoke cigarettes.

Ive used ronson for the last 10 yrs...when Ive had one that could be filled and never had a problem. Been using it steady since july in a cheap $4 lighter(best lighter I had in a long time) I got in Nags Head with no problems. As far as how long a refill lasts a friend turned me on to putting your lighter in the freezer for about 10 min before you fill it. Somtimes it might not want to shut off the first couple of times but just close the top and your fine.Purging every couple of times helps to.

Had a few problems with sputtering or flickering flame. Flame was also lower on same adjustment when using more highly filtered fuels. I will stick to Lava or Vector.

Yup, I've used everything from the cheapo crap you find on ebay, to Vector 5x refined, and never had an issue with any of it. I tend to buy Vector only because thats what the local shop carries in BIG cans.
