Actually put water in the coffee pot before you hit the start button, you get coffee quicker that way. :-)

... put the coffee pot underneath the filter basket. It makes less of mess that way. :-)

Yeah, but now that I've got a pot in me it's getting a LOT better!

Believe it or not but I've met people that don't even know you need to put water in the coffee maker....I guess they think it comes through the cord that goes in an electrical socket :-)

This also saves the heater coil from burning out. In addition, make sure that if using a single cup machine that you have a cup under the coffee dispenser.

I have a Nespresso with a water tank in the back. On a few bleary-eyed occasions I have put in my capsule, pushed the button and only gotten half a shot... It always takes me a minute to remember to check the water when this happens...

Now I try to remember to just put water I. Every time I use it... Maybe a few more months of this and I will get it right :-)

And that was the first thing I thought of, granted, it was literally only 30 seconds before I realized, "hey dubmass, you forgot to put water in."
