My great-grandfather was on Henderson Field when it happened. He was supposed to get out of the Army on Dec. 8th, but ended up staying for an additional 4 years due to the Pearl Harbor attack. Boy, was he pissed about that!

At this very moment, THIS is airing the movie "1941", and I am watching this THIS. It's likely not the best way to remember Pearl Harbor, but this has to count for something.
In all seriousness, I shall never forget the chance I got to visit the Arizona memorial on a vacation to Hawaii over 30 years ago. It is a moving tribute to a dark day in our history, one fitting to the sacrifices made that day and for the next four years of conflict.
