Good Eats>Any keg heads?

I've been using a Big Steel Keg since around March this year. I absolutely love it. I just made some beef back ribs this weekend that came out delicious!

Any other keg users?

Can you post pictures? I would love to see the set up and might consider doing the same

I don't have many photos of the BSK itself except for a few with food in it, plus some cooks themselves. I'll try to get some photos of the cooker itself and post them tomorrow. For now though, here's some food!

Spatchcock chicken. Direct heat @ 350 degrees. I'm actually cooking one of these tomorrow as well.

Finished chicken.

Here's a couple pork butts slow and low at 225. These took like 20 hours. I can do them overnight, but want to get a stoker so I don't have to worry. Sometimes the fire will go out.

Here's some pizza's that I cooked at 700 degrees. They come out fantastic.

It's a fantastic cooker for the price, and people love the food. It's very versitile. My family has literally begged for more pizza. My biggest wish is for them to release a larger one. It's the size of a standard Big Green Egg. I'd love if they offered one comparable to extra large BGE.

Looks like it makes some great eats! Yeah when you get time and can get a few pics of the Keg I would love to see it. Seems like you are on the right path though keeping it inexpensive while not losing the great taste.

Here's the keg. Lighting wasn't ideal and I shot it with my iphone, so my apologies for the blown highlights near the top.

Open with a finished chicken. It was tasty. I finally succeeded in getting the skin really crispy. I never seem to do well in the crispy skin department :-) If you notice the holes on either side of the chicken, there's a second rack that slides in for an additional level of cooking surface.

Let me know if you have any questions about the cooker. Overall, it performs as well as an Egg for about 30% less. One of the things that really sold me was it's portability. They make a tow hitch adapter that allows you to put it right on your hitch and take it to the tailgaiting party. Awesome feature. People who move eggs around are constantly walking on egg shells (har har) for fear of cracking the ceramic body. This thing is steel and very durable.

Man that looks great. I may just have to talk the wife into it! I'm sure there are many sites online that sell one, but did you pick it up from a store or something?

btw...the chicken looks fantastic!

They were originally manufactured by a company called Bubba Keg who sells huge keg shaped travel mugs.

At the end of last year they sold the BSK bbq to a Canadian company named Onward Manufacturing. They manufacture a lot of quality grills such as the Broil King.

I purchased mine from Amazon. You can find them at True Value and Mernards I believe. They have an entire thread dedicated to finding merchants who sell them at http://forum.bigsteelkeg.com.
