I am going to buy a new Macbook and want to sell mine. I really just want to sell it for parts. it is fully functioning, but is in rough shape cosmetically. I know Gazelle is the place that floats to the top and just wondered if anyone here had any luck with them.

Most places give so little that it really feels like you're getting hosed down.
I always try to gift that sort of stuff to someone who's in need. I try family first, then go outward to friends, or do whatever I can to find out who can benefit.
The "feel good" is a far bigger payoff than the couple bucks I'd get from hawking it.
Obviously, if what you can get for it is substantial, and it'd be a big help towards the new machine, by all means, go that way. I was just throwing an option at you.
You could always find out what Gazelle will give you and offer it at WTS, too. Maybe one of the guy's kids can use it.
Good luck in any event, my brother!!!

I sold my iPhone 4 to Gazelle when I upgraded to the 5. I received my money quickly, zero hassles, I'll use them again next year when it's time to upgrade the wife's 4S.

Same for me. I looked around and did not know anyone who was interested and the price offered by Gazelle seemed to be competitive.
I would use them again.
