From watching Dexter and playing GTA: Vice City (Espantoso radio), I've really gotten into the Cuban style/jazz music. Any reccomendations for something in that genre?

Buena Vista Social Club. Great album!:-)

Ray Barretto's Rican/Struction has been a fun listen lately.

Funny how my memory deceives me! I love some Desi Arnaz songs (partly why I started this thread). He's old skool, looking for something a little newer. Plenty of good suggestions in that link. Thanks for the link, Sean!:-)

Some new stuff eh??? (well from the 60's, but new to this thread)

I posted this in another jazz thread (:-)), but I'll post it here as well.

Jazz Samba featuring Stan Getz and Charlie Byrd

Getz /Gilberto featuring Stan Getz and the famous The Girl from Ipanema.

As a new Jazz listener myself (the owner of the "other" thread :-)l :-)l) I must say that there are some amazing suggestions here. I'm currently enjoying Spanish Harlem Orchestra.

Great beat, great rhythm, great vocals :-) :-)

Don't knock Gloria, hombre!
I'm not talking about her Pop Top 40 Miami Sound Machine stuff, I mean her solo work, like "Mi Tierra" & "Oye Mi Canto" albums, which includes some damm good Latin/Cuban tunes. Check out some samplers, you'll see (hear?) what I mean.

I'll try it out. All I know are her Pop music songs.
