I know it's all a matter of opinion and personal preference but I am curious is there a particular shape of pipe that you like with only a particular type of tobacco. Kind of like picking the right golf club for the right shot. You can use any of them to get the ball in the hole eventually but some are better than others at particular shots. I figure pipes are probably much the same. Thoughts?

If I fold flakes to smoke folded, I prefer a smaller bowl.
I like English blends in a large bowl.
That's all I got.
Peace of the Lord be with you.

^ what Todd said. Other than that I find it varies blend to blend personally. There have been a few Englishes that work better in a mid sized bowl as opposed to the 320ks, but that's just what works for me. Every day is a new learning experience.

Some just work. I have a Pete Calabash that I used around Christmas time (it looked Christmassy) - it smokes great for aromatics, so I reserve it for that. I've found lakelands really affect the cake quickly, so reserve pipes for them. Otherwise have fun - it's a discovery process, and I don't think there are right answers. A heavy lat blend in a big bowl is a bit much.
