Going to be on a cruise stopping at Belize city, Honduras and Cozumel after Christmas and was wondering if anyone has any recommendations for a trustworthy cigar shops to visit while there. Thanks!

There is an LCdH in Cozumel -- right across from the ferry terminal. Very nice place.

There's an itty bitty LCdH On San Pedro Caye in Belize. You can take a water taxi out to San Pedro, it's a nice ride.
They really had next to nothing when I was there, but the shop was nice and the owner was cool. I bought a couple sticks just cause.

Been to Cozumel many times. This is the only place I will shop for cigars at.

Thanks guys. I read conflicting articles on whether there was a lcdh in Cozumel. I emailed them to ask for directions from the port and got no reply.

Ask the two who went there for directions... Is there more than one port in Cozumel?

I walked from the cruise ship pier, along the main drag -- west, I think along the waterfront -- to the LCdH -- got the address from the LCdH website. It's upstairs in a building across from the ferry terminal.

The walk was about 30 minutes for me, my wife and my son. We were doing a little window shopping along the way, so you could do it in less (or more :-)) time.

As far as I know there is only one LCdH in Cozumel. They have a website but I am not sure it's OK to post the URL; you should be able to find it through Google.

I believe there is more than one port in cozumel and I haven't found out which one we are docking at yet. At worse I just ask a cab driver to take me to the ferry terminal. I'm not sure how much time I'll have after the excursion.

Thanks! I did look it up and have the address save in my phone. Good to know it's within walking distance.

I walked by there yesterday morning, Havana Cigar on front street (Barrier Reef Drive) is closed. Place is all torn up inside with piles of construction materials around, looks like they are remodeling or a new tenant is coming in, I can't tell which.

The only legitimate Cuban cigars I saw when I was there were at the duty free shops. Very expensive and no real selection to speak of. Very obvious fakes everywhere else.

Go to Wild Mango's a couple blocks away (towards the airport) and get something with seafood instead. The tropical ceviche is excellent.

I have no idea what the status is of the LCdH in Belize City as I didn't go there.

The food is incredible. Same at Caye Caulker.
I could live out my days in Belize really easy. :-)

I'm not surprised the store is closed, Adam. I have about 10 times the cigars they had, in a far wider selection.
I'm envious that you're tripping around Belize, too. :-)
Have fun, my friend!!!

Yep. I could too, brother. There's a special charm in Belize.

I'm actually back now, came in this morning around 1am, but it was great.

I did manage to find the Cozumel LCDH. Was a very nice shop and the guy there told me they are eventually planning to expand the humidor and I picked up a Montecristo Gran Reserva for the trip back (didn't have time to smoke it there). It was a wonderful smoke burnt very evenly and never went out. Sorry for the hack review :-)

Please update us when you smoke that. I bet that one wasn't cheap. Been curious on this cigar, yet haven't seen them for sale online. The Cohiba GR is one of the best cigars I have ever smoked.

Your right it wasn't cheap. I've been to a few cc shops in the past year and this is the first GR I've ever seen. It's a no.2 btw.

I agree on this. It was 2 years ago, but they were reasonable priced, and real thing.
