One of the funniest comics ever, and the inspiration for the likes of Robin Williams and Jim Carrey.
Rest in peace, Jonathan.

He made me laugh so hard I cried more than once, and that is a wonderful gift. R.I.P., Mr. Winters.

One of the very few who would make other comedians roll on the floor.
Rest In Peace Mr. Winters.

When a friend e-mailed me this news (after I'd already seen it, BTW), I replied with "RIP Maude Frickert". He bounced back with "Who's Maude Cricket?"
Philistine.

I have let a lot of these obit posts go by without comment, often also adding a bit of snide BS of my own,
but THIS ONE REALLY HURTS. I have never been affected by any other humorist lile I was by this man.
He may be a bit too bizarre for most people, but he was just the best. Just the best. I loved him like a
father and never met him.

He was born in my area and grew up in my hometown, so our area has been non-stop with the announcements and coverage today. It does suck when the truly great ones leave us
:-)
