I put together a 6-pack of beers I'd never had this week. The Red Bridge is the first one to lose it's top.
I did not pay as close attention to the label as I should have, or I'd probably passed this one by, because I was mainly looking for micro-brewery beers, and I missed the fact that this is a beer from Anheuser-Busch. Nothing against A-B, but I was looking for Micros!
Anyway, this beer is a Gluten-Free Sorghum Beer. Made without Wheat or Barley. I poured this beer up into a tall pilsner glass, and drank it while eating a meal of seared salmon.
The pour-up yielded a medium to above medium head, that dissipated fairly quickly, kinda like a pour-up of a Miller Hi-life. The beer had a very crisp taste, with a quick finish, and very little aftertaste. If you like hops and bitters, this is definitely NOT the beer for you. I would best describe this beer as a Killian's in a light version. Similar taste, but kinda watered down in taste.
I can see this this as a good beer for a hot day, served very cold. It would make a great thirst-quencher, but it is lacking in taste and strength to be an effective beer for sipping. It has the same thirst-quenching and crispness as a Miller Hi-life, but is probably much more expensive.
Overall, I would give this beer a 6.5. Great for thirst, but lacking in depth.
