Today started out as a normal Monday, if there is such a thing...
I work in a steel mill as a millwright, and most days are mundane rebuilds of various components for the process lines and removal / replacement of these components.
Today was to be a 'slow' day....
:-)
That lasted until I was called to one of the processes to troubleshoot a problem and proceeded to "not duck enough".
I drove my helmet into my asre just about knocking me out. Neck brace, back board and a 'fun' ride to hospital....
A great way to spend the day... NOT !
Just got home a little while ago... time to medicate.
:-):-)

Darryl, I hope you get to feeling better soon. And I thought I had a rough day...
[Reply]
That sucks, glad it wasn't worse. Last time I had one of those days was a torn ACL and MCL, surgery and 8 months light duty and rehab.

I remember seeing a band from chicago quite a few times that says they're working men for the working men and he was talking about they're new song<was around a year ago> called courage that he dedicated to all men and women that made the world go around with their sweat and labor. This song keeps me going on rough busy grinding days.

oops it might of been this song by them

Pay me a dollar for my sweat and my blood
With callus hands I work the land in the pain and the mud
I take pride in what I do to serve is my own joy
I will work hard for you good sir I'm an all-American boy
I say hey for my lazy work today
That's right I'll be working through tonight
Say hey I found a better way
That's right I'll be working through tonight
Pay me a dollar for my sweat is my pay
I'm young but I find myself on projects or past work that has been hurtful , so I feel ya my brother , but like they say another day another dollar.
Hope you feel better. You may feel this 1 tomorrow.

Hopefully you're doing alright! I keep seeing the scene in Tommy Boy when he's touring the new brake pad division going through my head.

I was in the Superdome one day, shooting a Mickey Thompson's off road race, and I had to go up
a few levels, so I got on the freight elevator. I had earplugs in because of the intense noise, and
those doors
rang and came down, and I could hardly hear anything...huge, heavy steel doors, and
just CROWNED me, no helmet, who needed one? Dropped me to my knees and then to my butt as
it sunk in, RUNG my bell and left a knot like a gapefruit. The helmet is a hell of a thing.
