Well the throbbing has mostly gone away. Vicodin is my best friend
:-) About 10 years ago I had a very bad accident with a table saw and nearly cut 2 fingers completely off. The only thing holding one on was some skin and a little flesh. $25,000.00 and 15 hours of surgery later, they put it all back together. After 15 months of rehab I had 95% movement back in the finger. They removed parts from the back of my left ankle to rebuild everything and it worked for the most part. The only thing that does not move now is the last joint at the tip of the finger will not bend and the nerves on the tip are gone so in the winter I have to be careful of frost bite.
Moral of the story, I do use a push stick and consider myself a fairly careful guy. This was a case of cutting down a 12 inch wide, 2 inch thick piece of Oak into 4 inch strips. I only let the blade stick up a 1/4 inch above the wood. The piece was too big for a push stick and when I cleared the blade the big piece started to tip off the table. I should have just let it fall but I reached for it and caught the edge of the blade. Next time it hits the floor.
