Discussion>Its getting cold
Ranger_B 10:42 PM 12-05-2009
So I have been trying to get into smoking my pipes my often and now that its cold it seems to be the perfect time. My B&M is real limited to backy however, I love his house blends. I would like to try some flakes and my girlfriend prefers when I smoke aromatics. Can anyone recommend a couple of aromatic flakes that are not over the top sweet? Thanks.

Mac Baren Vanilla Cream is what I smoke when I have that rare craving for a flavored tobacco.

Really, I don't know what other Aros are good.

Sam Gawith FireDance Flake. I have yet to try this flake, but from what I have heard its a decent smoke for an aromatic. Plus at 6ish for a 50g tin price is spot on

Firedance Flake is an GREAT aro if you like blackberries

as best as I can tell, it's either FVF or BBF with a light topping. Top notch quality, no goopiness at all, just good virginia tobacco with some blackberry sweetness.

Vanilla Cream Flake is excellent also, but it a little bit more flavored (better than the loose cut)

Great all good to know. I decided to let the GF go ahead and do the ordering after some research on tobacco reviews and go figure. Firedance and Vanilla creme made the list. As did about 10 other tins. She wouldnt tell me all of them but the damn credit card sure told me it was a few. I have got to be more specific when I tell her to pick. Ill post once its here. Thanks for all the info Ill do my part and send up a review or two once they arrive.

Yep went with the firedance. What an interesting smoke. The room note seemed very sweet and yet the backy didnt taste too sweet. I picked up the berries as soon as I cracked the tin. As for the taste it didnt seem goopey. I assumed it would be a bit wet so I let it sit out about 45 min to an hour then packed a small bowl to give this a taste. You can not miss the blackberry in this. This one for sure the GF will approve of. She may even put this in her pipe.
