Been gone for a week and now that I'm back I feel overwhelmed trying to catch up. So anyone want to give me the fast and short version. :-):-)

Here's a short list:

1. Noobs are getting slaughtered HERE

2. Silver Fox is getting multiple birthday spankings.

3. Multiple interesting contests popped up concerning photos/photoshopping and Halloween (see Contest forum).

4. Um, a bearded bunny was received in the mail (search for that one).

5. I accidentally looked at a boob on my work PC and may get some grief about it.

6. I haven't smoked enough cigars lately. :-) I've gotta work on that!

7. The Jets were sent en-masse to the arena football league.

8. Missed ya - where ya been? :-)

Edit: 9. Just saw another boob in banter. It's a booby day I'd say.

On a serious note...

Please let me know if I have forgotten to give you feedback for something or if I need to send you something. I pretty much lost track of everything while I have been gone. I apologize for any inconvenience. :-)

The Jets Defense was completely embarassed by the Dolphins offense

And vice versa... Both defenses sucked in that game. Funny how everyone attacks the Jet defense but ignores the fact that the Dolphins defense allowed 27 points.

Fact is the Jets are still in first place and the Dolphins are in 3rd...

Can't say why everyone attacks the Jets defense, as for me I live in NY and have to be subjected to non-stop hype about them everyday, when in reality THEY AIN'T THAT GOOD.

Rex Ryan this, Rey Ryan that......Ryans' defenses play well in certain situations, namely when they play slow, plodding type offenses. When they play anyone with any semblance of team speed and quick strike ability they get torched.

Monday night was a perfect example. Another example would be the last 3-4 times the Colts played the Ravens when Ryan was D coordinator there, Colts completely embarassed them each time, they AVERAGED something like 45 points a game.

The Colts pretty much torch every defense in the game. Peyton is a stud and their offense is epic. Unfortunately their defense has always been lacking.

As for Ryan's defense our defense Mon night looked nothing like the defense that played the first 4 games. They didn't show up. That doesn't mean that our defense isn't all that it's hyped to be. It means they had an off game.

We lose to the best offense in football (Saints) because of some rookie mistakes and we barely lose to Miami and all the sudden everyone is talking about how the Jets are over hyped and how we aren't going anywhere. How about we talk about how despite the Miami game we still have one of the top 5 defense in football. Or how about we talk about the fact that Sanchez, as a rookie, is playing much better than anyone expected him to and that he has the ability to take us to the playoffs. Let's talk about the fact that we now have Braylon Edwards, who after only 3 practices with the Jets, showed what a threat he is going to be to teams in the future. How about we talk about the fact that we have a young and talented O line that is also one of the best in the league. Lets talk about about the fact that Rieves is a shutdown corner who has pretty much stopped every receiver he has covered this year...

Joe, I have no idea what this season holds for the Jets, but a few things to keep in mind.

1) defensive rankings mean squat, and have little to do with how good a defense really is. If a D, for whatever reason, had nobody attempt a rush against them all year they would give up zero rushing yards, and would have the number one rush D.... Stats are the great lie.

Before you go crowning Sanchez the next great thing, keep in kind the guy is barely completeting 50% of his passes. That's awful, and at the pro level rarely changes. You ate either accurate by the time you get to the
pros or your not, and he's not. Other thing I noticed was a weak arm on him, barely reached the 15 yard line and he was at the 50 when he threw it. Not good, and the one pass to Edwards that they called PI severely underthrown as well. His throws have no zip, they float which is a killer in the NFL:-)
