Here are some pictures I got on my camera on the way to work; almost the entire City likes similar to this. These pictures are pretty mild compared to some other sights I've seen lately that put me into so much awe I didn't even think of taking a picture.
All my construction sites have been heavily damaged. Arcadia's city tree is the Oak and the City has passed numerous regulations permitting removal of these trees. Unfortunately, combined with the recent Santa Ana winds, the result is hundreds of very tall oaks uprooting, tearing up sidewalks, and falling on everything around including cars, homes, stores, and gas stations. Many stores and streets are still closed. Some of my family members are staying with others outside the city.
Probably not the worst compared to natural disasters in other cities, but the worst this suburb in sunny CA has seen in a decade or so I hear on the news.
Hope everyone is taking care and staying safe.
Now I need to go back and deal with mess.

Too far for me to go with my chainsaw. In the bay area we call them the Diablo winds and we are still cleaning up like this.
I brought my truck and saw to work so I can collect some wood today.

I read about the windstorm in the paper...said it was the worst in decades! Winds that gusted to around 125 mph!!! That's category 3 strength hurricane force winds! Absolutely crazy! Hopefully everyone is ok out that way....

There were long lasting gusts in the 50-70 range with sustained 20s. I remember this happening every three years or so when I was a kid growing up here. It has been a long time, aside from windy rain storms which move through quickly.
