Discussion>New Pipe Time

Stopped by my favorite tobacco shop of all time, Iwan Ries in Chicago. Wasn't planning on picking up a new pipe, just some new tins, and some stuff for our upcoming secret santa. But I got talking with one of the guys and he started showing me a few pipes, and eventually showed me this one. I loved how delicate it looked, and for being used, it has very little wear. They filled/polished the stem a touch to clean up some bite marks.

It is a Genod, a maker I haven't heard much about before, but it sure looks beautiful. Apparently they used to make pipes for Iwan Ries, along with their own line that are still being made. I'd love to date this, but with no marks beyond the brand I'm not sure that's possible.

Nice looking pipe. Let us know how it smokes.

Peace of the Lord be with you.

Christened this in with some vintage Anniversary Kake from H&H, my all time favorite pipe tobacco. I think I'll be enjoying this pipe for many many years to come.

Plus the girlfriend doesn't mind if I smoke the pipe inside our new home so I don't have to stop smoking when the snow comes!
