My calendar says it is Asian New Year, not Chinese New Year. I don't know why. Is this more accurate, or just wrong? Is this just political correctness, or a nod to China's global aspirations? Is this a good thing, or does it p!ss you off? I dunno, I really truly dunno.
Anyway, Happy New Year, whatever it is.

What animal is it this year? We've been going to a Chinatown style restaurant down the street. Every Chinese in Newton & Brighton (which is a good amount) are now go to dine instead of going to Chinatown. Closer, has parking, and the food is 85% as good as the best downtown.
We can do "all you can eat" for $25 each.

Google says Year of the Horse . . . which fits well with fine Chinese cuisine.

This place is straight-up Chinatown style, bright dining room lights and all. Has the fish tank. The ginger & scallion lobster is really good. Do a good job on hot pots too.
Let us know how you make out if you go.

Love horse. Was asking a hip new Charcuterie in Waltham if they had plans to make horse sausage or horse "prosciutto-speck". Not sure the exact name of that one, but it's outstanding and very lean.
